Wow!!! That is all you can say about 2013 Steel
In Motion. Friday was a perfect day and a huge
number of cars were on hand for Friday’s
festivities. The weather on Saturday was rainy
but the cars just kept rolling in and with a
break in the weather later that evening, the
track crew was able to dry and prep the track
for some fantastic racing! Gassers, Front Engine
Dragsters, Hot Rods and Customs took turns
blasting down the well prepared 1/8 mile Union
County Dragway. The bands enjoyed large crowds
around the stage as they rocked the house both
Friday and Saturday.
The first Steel In motion pin up contest
took place Saturday evening and was a huge hit
with 23 ladies participating. A big thank you
goes out to all the hardcore participants that
braved a rainy day and made Steel In Motion 2013
There is something we would like to address. We
have heard people saying, I love your rat rod
show. We in no way consider Steel In Motion to
be a rat rod show. Unfortunately, over the last
10 plus years, many old cars not warranting the
term, get labeled as a rat rod. Many times a
Traditional Hot Rod or Traditional Custom will
get that label because the general public and
some old car enthusiast don’t understand the
a car or truck has chicken wire, left over parts
and tools welded or bolted on, or other items
done for the sole purpose of shock value, then
it will most likely be a rat rod. A
Traditional Hot Rod or Traditional Custom that
was built and styled to closely resemble a
vehicle that was built and or customized in the
40s, 50s or 60s shouldn’t get labeled as a rat
rod. Our prominent hot rodding and custom
history of the 40s, 50s and 60s is what Steel In
Motion is proud to honor and celebrate.
Get yourself in gear and get ready for 2014!
New for 2014 will be a
Bicycle Show! Bring out your cool custom or
stock vintage bicycle. We will have a bicycle
corral located near the music stage to show your

Geargoyles tent, next to the music stage to
register your bicycle. No charge to register
your vintage bicycle.
The 2013 Miss Steel in Motion Pin-Up Contest was
awesome so we are proud to announce it will be
back in 2014! The objective is to find a pinup
that exemplifies what it means to be a great
pinup in today's modern world.
